sleeve design: RHUM RUNNERS - RHUM RHAPSODIES

exotica meets ska meets rocknroll - rodolphe guiheux from the French DOGHOUSE & BONE Label gave me this here nice assignment: designing the sleeve for Bruno longo's new band "THE RHUM RUNNERS". initially they just wanted to re-use a vintage Pulp-cover-Illustration, with just the text changed - it took some time to convince rodolphe in designing a complete new sleeve-Illustration. but finally it worked and here we go!!!! first the rough Color, then the black Background and the Details... and here it is, the final product - and maaan it is nice to have it in my Hands - go get it fast - at DOGHOUSE & BONE recs. paris, France! and dig the backsleeve!!!! :-)

GRANDMA'S HILLBILLY HUT

Here you see two preparatory designs i did, to study colors, shadow and Basic forms of a house in the countryside. In fact i made it for the set design of a childrens theatre Play called "HOTZENPLOTZ". Later on the stage director and me decided to keep it very simple and graphic and just with black and White and NO Colors at all... i will soon Show all about the final theatre set design - but here first Grandma's Hillbilly Hut - acrylics, ink and Crayon on canvas. size is about 24 x 18 cm.

HOLY SMOKIN SWAMP BOOGIE POSTER

Chris Blackmoore from Holy Smokes records in Glasgow/Scotland approached me to do a poster for his HOLY SMOKIN SWAMP BOOGIE. i knew i finally can do a drawing of a crocodile again - since i really love to draw these creatures. i suggested to do a poster that is Long in size, in fact, one din-A size cut in half, so that a crocodile can use the whole space. i painted it with black and White ink on cardboard and did the coloration with acrylics. the best Thing: the crocodile is SOLD and found a new home! SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

POSTER for mini-festival

three bands, three Characters, one color and a difficult poster size - but maybe just right for this kind of "bill". dig day 3 - my own band's release Party... here some pics of lettering and the final drawing of the devil, the Beatnik and the Sheriff.

EUREKA BRASS BAND

man, Long Long Long time no News and no see... but here i'm back... so much water has been running down the rhine river and i really had a lot of work doing Posters, Flyers, silkscreenprints, recordings, Releases - 2 big Releases just came out, gonna post them here asap. well, here is an acrylic painting i done a few days ago in the afternoon sun, after a photograph by William claxton.
